Cuba 2014 – Part 7 – More Misc Memories

It’s hard to believe that we’ve been back a little over two weeks already. We’re still adjusting to being home, and still missing our friends and the laid-back life we were enjoying during our stay there…silly things like swimming in the pool every morning, not having to worry about grocery shopping or cooking for 3 months, the lively domino games everywhere we visited, colourful live shows almost every night…and then there are the bigger things, like the steady stream of warm hugs, laughter and friendly faces, things not so easy to find here at home where people are generally too busy and in too big of a rush to get to wherever they’re going to smile and chat. We miss sitting in a rocking chair laughing and chatting with our friends.

In fact, the truth is that we’re feeling rather lonely these days.

We’re slowly settling back in. But we know that deep down inside, our hearts are still yearning for the beloved faces and places of our little corner of Cuba.

I’ve compiled a gallery of more pictures, a short meander through some of our favourite faces and places that we enjoyed so much.

About Sharon

I love to write. I love to write myself into being right here right now. Writing releases something in me that needs wings, writing opens doors and windows that I often don't even realize are possible, writing helps me breathe out the dusty old, and to breathe in the new and possible. My hope is that maybe writing here in this blog will bring new light into these dusty old hallways and help me to clear out the thinking processes and mindsets that just don't work for me anymore. I seek to breathe new light and life into the nooks and crannies of a soul that has been feeling somewhat lost and frayed because of the last few patches of road I've had to travel.

  1. I think I would have a hard time tearing myself away from that beach!
