Continuing to Shine Light on Others – Angelika

Well, my writing muse is beginning to stir…ideas and scribblings are flowing more freely now than they have in a long time…bringing joyful hope that the creative mojo is not lost and gone forever.

In the meantime, while the scribblings and ideas unscramble and untether themselves from my mind onto the keyboard, I’ll take this chance to shine the spotlight on my dear friend Angelika Schwarz, whose first novel, “Wings on Her Heels”, is officially launching tomorrow, September 1, 2015.

Angelika has been working on this novel for a very long time…about 15 years from conception to publication. The result is a brilliant book that I personally could not put down! “Wings on Her Heels” beautifully weaves the story of Melanie with enticing hints and tidbits from Angelika’s own story. Through this skilful blending of fact and fiction, Angelika creates a vibrant setting full of adventure, suspense, travel and romance. I particularly enjoyed that the story includes vivid, knowledgeable descriptions of so many places, including Boston, Munich, Switzerland and Yugoslavia. The book is so well-written that I felt like I was there, in those places, experiencing the joys and terrors of Melanie first-hand. For example, in Switzerland, I even had to touch my own head to see if there were snowflakes in my hair.

“Wings on Her Heels” was one of those books that just invited me to climb right into the story and live there. From the very first page, I was captivated and couldn’t put the book down without it constantly beckoning to me to get back into the story.  And I was sad when it ended, because I wanted to stay there with Melanie and experience more life through her eyes and thoughts…I wanted to experience more life through Angelika’s marvelous writing.

So this blog is my heartfelt tribute to Angelika and the tremendous achievement of getting your “Wings” onto the bookshelves…congratulations, my friend! Well done!! I strongly suspect that those “Wings” are already spreading far and wide across the globe, as “Wings on Her Heels” is now available in paperback and Kindle editions on Amazon’s sites in the US, Canada and the UK so far. I can’t wait to see how far she flies!

About Sharon

I love to write. I love to write myself into being right here right now. Writing releases something in me that needs wings, writing opens doors and windows that I often don't even realize are possible, writing helps me breathe out the dusty old, and to breathe in the new and possible. My hope is that maybe writing here in this blog will bring new light into these dusty old hallways and help me to clear out the thinking processes and mindsets that just don't work for me anymore. I seek to breathe new light and life into the nooks and crannies of a soul that has been feeling somewhat lost and frayed because of the last few patches of road I've had to travel.

It’s a joy to speak about something as wonderful as an author’s first published novel! And a joy to congratulate you and this incredible achievement! I hope someday we can announce the book that maybe you and I will write together. I have not forgotten.

Debbie, you were there at the beginning of my blogging, and you have helped me figure it out. Without that guidance, I wouldn’t be this far. … but I still have a long way to go. 🙂 Thank you for all your support, in twitter too. Was there even a life before blogging?
